Sean Kana

Sean Kana

Sean is a native of San Francisco, is well known in the Bay Area for being a music/vocal director for many different venues. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Music degree in Vocal Performance from San Francisco State University and has been teaching music ever since. Sean has done many different shows, such as Into the WoodsRagtimeThe ProducersThe Sound of Music, Legally Blonde (Shellie Award), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and RENT. He has played keyboards for musicals such as Dirty Rotten ScoundrelsCinderellaPeter PanMiss SaigonThe 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and more. Sean is a recording artist and has been involved in singing on Motion Picture movie trailers recorded at Lucasfilm, such as BeowulfDefiance and more. Sean has worked with SFSU, working on operas such as The Bartered BrideOrpheus and the UnderworldThe Magic Flute, and has worked on musicals such as West Side StoryCity of Angels, and others. Sean is also the co founder of The Miscreants Cabaret – a San Francisco based performance troupe. He has sung on a Sprint Holiday Commerical and has CD recordings such as There I’ll BeA Heart’s Journey, and In Paradisum. He has toured to Cuba, China, Italy, France, London, and throughout the United States singing, directing, playing, and giving musical theatre workshops.


Alissa Deeter

Soprano Alissa Deeter is a nationally recognized performer with firm footing in the classical, operetta, and musical theatre repertoire. An active recitalist, she has a penchant for French mélodie as well as the treasured compositions of Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, and Weill. Alissa is an advocate of art to affect change and is continually promoting vocal music in local communities as a cultural force. She is the co-author of The Mélodies of Francis Poulenc: A Study Guide (Scarecrow Press, 2014) and can be heard on the recording From the Heartland(Albany Records, 2012). She and pianist Arlene Shrut have a new recording entitled Hier: Mélodies of Francis Poulenc currently in production with Centaur Records. Alissa holds the Doctor of Music degree in voice performance from Florida State University and is a distinguished vocal pedagogue in the field. With twenty years of teaching, she possesses the skills and expertise to teach students of all ages and levels of development.
