Academy Players


Players students discover, develop, and refine their individual talents through training, investigation, and awareness. While building on the foundations of theatrical training, the Players curriculum promotes creative independence while advancing the student’s development as a whole. Participants get to explore their strengths while pursuing their passion!

Sessions can be taken individually or in combination.  Tuition is discounted if more than one session is taken.

Session 1 - Opening Session: June 10 - June 14

This creative opening session was created for our talented Players students to inspire them through the energy and creativity of the musical theatre world. Participants will explore movement, acting, and vocal instruction as well as learn more about the history of musical theatre and the greatest shows of all time.

Session 2: June 17 - June 28

Musical Theatre: Movement and Voice

During this session, our Players members dive deep into the elements of music and movement in Musical Theatre. Designed for students of all levels of movement experience, participants will explore concepts of physicality, integrated movement, and dance techniques while also receiving vocal instruction. Guest instructors will be brought for special topics such as stage combat and physical theatre.  Students will have the opportunity to share their work with friends and family at the end of the session.

Session 3: July 1 - July 12

Musical Theatre: Acting and Voice

In this session, our Players members will develop their  abilities to analyze and express the dramatic elements of Musical Theatre. Students will learn how to approach a text, explore characters, and learn to live truthfully in imaginary circumstances, ultimately incorporating those choices into solo and ensemble singing. Students will have the opportunity to share their work with friends and family at the end of the session.

Session 4: July 15 - July 26

Putting it Together

Our final session gives students the opportunity to apply their skills in an original production. Players groups will each learn how to create a story plot, brainstorm songs, create choreography, and design production elements such as set and costumes. All instruction will be overseen by a professional instructional staff with a culminating performance on July 26th at the Fox Theatre.
