Welcome to Broadway By The Bay’s 47th season, kicking off another year at the Fox Theatre in vibrant downtown Redwood City. We are energized by this growing community and look forward to producing blockbuster shows that represent the best that musical theatre can offer. As your new Artistic Director, I am honored to work among so many talented individuals and engage in a culture of strong support and enthusiasm. Thank you for the warm welcome!
Our season hits the ground running in April with the all-time favorite, Hairspray. This Tony Award winning musical is a rock’n showstopper promoting tolerance and acceptance – “You Can’t Stop The Beat!” Next up, come take a trip down memory lane as we celebrate the music of the 50’s and 60’s in The Marvelous Wonderettes, featuring songs such as “Lollipop,” “It’s In His Kiss,” “Respect,” and “It’s My Party.” Moving into fall, we hope to inspire you once again with the now classic, A Chorus Line, whose complex fusion of song and dance reveal the poignant ambitions of Broadway gypsies struggling to find their way. And finally, our successful return of Broadway By The Year (1965 and 1997) will close out our season in November with a line up of Broadway stars that is sure to please!
We strive to produce high-quality productions that will not only entertain you, but also provide you with a “new” experience that is both provoking and inspiring.
